Orphaned children and those from extremely poor families who scored 250 marks and above in the recently released KCPE results have been asked to apply for a sponsorship program to allow them proceed to Secondary schools.
Among the available scholarships include the Equity Bank’s Wings to Fly program, Jomo Kenyatta University Foundation and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).
Isiolo Parents Association Chair Ismail Galma asked parents and guardians to seize the opportunity so that their children transit to the next level and achieve their dreams.
The hard copy application forms are available at the County Education offices.
“No needy student should fail to proceed with their education due to lack of fees. Let them apply for the support,” he noted.
Ms Sara Suleiman, Bulapesa Ward MCA hopeful, said that they she was committed towards ensuring all needy pupils in the area were accorded necessary assistance.
“We will continue to assist those facing challenges while applying for the sponsorship,” said Ms Suleiman.
They lamented that many well-off parents were using dubious means to have their children picked for scholarships calling for fair and transparent scrutiny before award of the support.
“We will follow up to ensure that all deserving pupils qualify for the assistance,” Mr Galma assured.
Parents were warned against last minute rush as could deny their children the opportunity.
