A man in Embu swallowed a used condom to clear evidence after he was caught defiling his 11-year-old daughter on Saturday.
The villagers who were pissed off by the flabbergasting and heinous act almost lynched the middle-aged man before he was rescued by police.
The residents told the media that they became suspicious of what was going on between the man and the minor after he locked her up in the house and when they forced themselves into the house they found the man on the act and screamed attracting the villagers.
In an effort to get rid of the evidence, the uncouth man swallowed the wet condom shocking the onlookers who descended on him with blows.
Mr James Kariuki, one of the eye-witness said they found the man on the bed with the daughter and that for a long time, they have been suspecting that the man sleeps with the young girl.
“When we forced ourselves into the house and found him on the act, he removed the condom and put in the mouth, and swallowed it to kill evidence,” said Mr Kariuki
Embu West Sub County Police Commander, Mr Samuel Gitau said the man who was seriously injured by the angry mob will be arraigned in court to face defilement charges once he is out of the hospital.
“We have launched investigations into the matter including taking the girl to the hospital for screening and we will produce the man in court for charges once he is out of the hospital,” said Mr Gitau.
