Isiolo County Health Executive Wario Galma has refuted the government’s Covid-19 figures claiming that they were inflated.

The official said the Isiolo figures shared by the Ministry of Health were twice more than the figures the county has and claimed that the government could have captured data for the repeat tests.

Mr Galma insisted that the county had reported 285 positive cases and 13 deaths by March 30 and not 559 cases as shared by the Ministry of Health on April 1.

The Health executive said one of the six cases that the county reported on April 2 was a repeat test for a patient admitted at the Covid-19 ICU centre at the Isiolo Referral Hospital.

He said after patient tests positive, a repeat test is done and another before he or she is discharged from the hospital.
