An Isiolo based journalist has been vaccinated against Covid-19 few days after the deadly disease claimed lives of four journalists.
George Kobia said the jab will keep him safe as was among those at higher risk of contracting the disease due to nature of his work that entails a lot of interaction with sources.
He asked the government to include journalists in the priority list of the frontline workers saying they too needed the vaccine.
“Do not fear the vaccine, instead fear Coronavirus,” he told journalists after the inoculation.
“If you get an opportunity, go ahead and be vaccinated. I know very soon the doses might run out and Kenyans be required to purchase them,” Mr Kobia stressed to his colleagues.
Covid-19 has already claimed lives of four journalists among them Embu based Star reporter Reuben Githinji, former Nation FM presenter Lorna Kariuki, Radio Citizen Managing Editor Robin Njogu and former NTV anchor Winnie Mukami.
