Kenyans locked in and out of the zoned area of five counties under lockdown have one day to transit.
“For those affected, the government has allowed for a transition period until March 28 outside the curfew period,” Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said.
Those who had bought airplane or SGR tickets have been allowed to use them between March 27 and March 29 by midday when SGR and domestic flights in and out of the zoned area will be suspended.
Frontline workers among them health workers and journalists will continue using old passes until new ones are issued on March 30, 2021.
Enterprises whose employees are deployed in double shifts of day/night such as factories and construction are not affected by the new measures and operations will continue uninterrupted.
Individuals seeking specialized treatment within the zoned area will be addressed on a case-by-case basis upon proof of referral and with clearance from the nearest police commander.
The above also applies to the transportation of caskets which must be disposed of in three days.
