Nominated Senator Abshiro Halake has found herself on the receiving end for distributing revision textbooks to Class Eight candidates at two Primary schools in Merti, Isiolo a week to the national exams.

Though a number of residents hailed the legislator for the kind gesture, many bashed her for distributing the books to Bulesa and Merti primary candidates nine days to the KCPE exams.

“As our students prepare for examinations, we must equip them with the right reading materials to ensure the best outcome in their learning. Distributed revision materials to Merti and Bulesa Primary schools,” the Senator shared on her Facebook page on March 11.

A section of the residents took to social media to hit out at Ms Halake over misplaced priorities saying she should have given the candidates stationeries instead of textbooks.

“Does it even make sense to give them revision materials nine days to exams?” Adan Guyo shared on Facebook.

But Somo Ibrahim said though not timely, the materials will assist somehow adding that other leaders had done nothing to help the candidates.

“This is hypocrisy of the highest level but leaders are always that way-they help when they want regardless of whether timely or not,” Mr Boniface Mutinda shared on a Whatsapp group.
