Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker, Wahome Ndegwa has been impeached.
Out of 31 MCAs who participated, 27 voted in the favour of the impeachment motion that was sponsored by Majority Leader King’ori Wambugu.
Seven MCAs did not participate in the voting because they had just been suspended by the Jubilee Party as the impeachment motion was on-going.
The Speaker was impeached in January but a Nakuru court reinstated him where he had challenged the ouster claiming that the legal procedures were not adhered to.
Yesterday Mr Ndegwa while appearing before the House to defend himself against the planned ouster, he claimed that the move was just witch-hunt.
He was being accused of abuse of office, nepotism, and corruption.
Mr Ndegwa who defended himself against the accusations arrogantly had confidence that he would remain in the office but a blow to him; the suspended seven MCAs are his supporters.
