Three people who were reportedly abducted by a militia group when a vehicle they were traveling ran over an explosive at Derkale area in Mandera, have been found alive.
It took the security team dispatched from Banisa Sub-County five days before the three were found abandoned at Tawfiq area by some herders who handed them over to authorities.
A police report seen by the Press Point says the three were after the abduction taken several kilometres away to an unknown place by over 20 armed men.
The militia group then enquired if the trio were Muslims or not which they answered in affirmative.
Governor Ali Roba last week said the terrorist group was increasingly taking control of the county and that was controlling over 50 percent of the roads in the region.
