The KANU Party leader Gideon Moi has maintained that the Rift Valley region was in support of BBI amid heated criticism from leaders allied to his rival Deputy President William Ruto.
He said the BBI train had left the station and that the process was at an advanced stage where no changes could be introduced and asked Kenyans to support it.
Accompanied by Samburu Woman Rep Maison Leshoomo, Mr Moi said the country will be shocked seeing Rift Valley okay the expected plebiscite to pave way for the constitutional amendments and exuded confidence that with immense backing by leaders from across the country, the report will sail through.
“We will make sure BBI sails through no matter what. The report has the support of leaders from across the country and we are all proceeding to one direction,” the Senator said.
Mr Moi asked the Deputy President to hold his horses over early campaigns and wait until 2022 saying leaders should support President Kenyatta deliver on his Big Four Agenda and not politicking.
“They should be ready for a serious contest. We are not gambling but as of now, I remain focused in the interest of my people,” he said.
Ms Leshoomo said the county was solidly behind the Head of State and will take any political direction he advises them to.
“Those with 2022 ambitions should wait for that time. We are interested in the ruling government and no one knows about 2022,” Baringo Woman Rep Gladwell Cheruiyot said.
