A senior police officer has been arrested for defiling four boys and two young adults he was harbouring for an unknown time at his house in Chogoria, Tharaka Nithi County.
Following a tip-off from the public that the Chief Inspector of Mitheru Police Post was harbouring the boys, officers from Chogoria station raided his house and found the minors lying on the floor.
The boys from Ntumu village, aged between 14 and 19 years, told police that the officer had carnal knowledge with them on several occasions, a police report seen by the Press Point notes.
The boys were rescued and taken to Chogoria Police Station.
The suspect has been detained at the station awaiting arraignment for defilement (sodomy) charges.
It has however not been established when the boys went missing but investigations into the matter have been launched.
